Olivia Nairn returns to the Royal College of Art for this annual event
Having thoroughly enjoyed the 2011 British Art Fair, I returned to the 2012 event with much anticipation. Many of the same stands appeared, and it was a fine opportunity to contemplate both new emerging artists and those with established reputations, including Tracey Emin, Chris Ofili and Banksy at Dominic Guerrini, and Elizabeth Frink at Beaux Arts.
A favourite piece this year was Asterism by Robert McPartland at Flying Colours Gallery, shown below. The vibrant oil painting would be perfect on a kitchen wall. While the prices at the 20/21 Art Fair are considerably more than others fairs (not least the Affordable Art Fair, where pieces for the casual consumer of art can be purchased for under £100), for a serious and passionate collector, this event is definitely one to check out.
